Code of Conduct

Intent

Web3D Consortium pledges to maintain a positive and professional work environment. This is done by requiring all contributors to the Web3D ecosystem agree and uphold these Standards to improve the collaborative domain that will enhance and promote the Web3D Consortium Mission.

Standards

Examples of behavior that contributes to a positive environment for our community include:

  • Demonstrating empathy and kindness toward other people
  • Being respectful of differing opinions, viewpoints, and experiences
  • Giving and gracefully accepting constructive feedback
  • Accepting responsibility and apologizing to those affected by our mistakes, and learning from the experience
  • Focusing on what is best not just for us as individuals, but for the overall community

Examples of unacceptable behavior include:

  • The use of sexualized language or imagery, and sexual attention or advances of any kind.
  • Trolling, insulting or derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks.
  • Public or private harassment.
  • Publishing others’ private information, such as a physical or email address, without their explicit permission.
  • Using iintellectual property of others,  including trademarks,  particullarly Web3D Consortium trademarks, without expressed written permission.
  • Other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting.

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies within all Web3D community spaces, and also applies when an individual is officially representing the Web3D Consortium in public spaces. Examples of representing our community include using an official email address, posting via an official social media account, posting to a public forum or mailing list in an official Web3D Consortium capacity (e.g., working group chair), or acting as an appointed representative at an online or offline event.

If you observe or on the receiving end of a less-than positive non-professional interaction, please contact  complete the Conduct Reporting Form. Your statement will be taken and individually handled in a professional and timely manner by leadership.
