The ACM International Web3D 2012 Conference with a history of over 16 years is a major annual event that unites researchers, developers, experimenters, and content creators in a dynamic learning environment to address a wide range of topics related to 3D multimedia on the Web. This event will be a unique opportunity to see the "state of play" of the emerging 3D Web industry. Attendees will share and explore methods of using, enhancing and creating new 3D Web and Multimedia technologies such as WebGL and HTML5, Flash/ Stage 3D, X3D (VRML), COLLADA, and the MPEG family.

The conference highlights capabilities and trends in interactive 3D graphics across a wide range of applications including Augmented Reality and supports research from mobile devices up to high-end immersive environments.
3D is reaching a new milestone with the convergence of various technologies, Web standards, 3D navigation devices and 3D displays. This year the conference will also focus on recent standards initiatives for 3D on the Web and address issues related to interoperability, longevity, and ownership of 3D content. Tutorials and Workshop topics include: Geo Web3D, E-Learning, Augmented Reality, Scientific Visualization and Declarative 3D. Panel session on 3D as a new dimensions of Web delivery will catalyze discussions on how technologies and industry leaders can work together for the future of 3D on the Web.
