Virginia Tech
Founded in 1872 as a land-grant college named Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College, Virginia Tech is now a comprehensive, innovative research university with the largest number of degree offerings in Virginia. VT’s Advanced Research Computing (ARC) is an interdisciplinary environment dedicated to advancing capabilities and insight in computational science and engineering using supercomputing and visual analysis tools. Access to data is paramount for an effective coupling of centralized resources and distributed researchers; therefore the group is focusing on the development of software infrastructures that support a variety of domains and use-cases including web service tools for data translation, manipulation, and visualization. In addition, ARC provides educational and support services to drive access to and adoption of cutting-edge integrated information spaces.
