Founded in 1966, KIST is a premier multi disciplinary research institute in Korea. Our goal is to research, develop, and transfer creative, original technologies that are necessary to advance our nation’s science and technology base. Specifically, we focus on fusion technologies that will propel Korea’s economic growth, especially in the areas of environment, energy, health, security, and materials.

KIST will continue to proactively foster partnerships with industries, universities, and research institutes. It is our firm belief that through such cooperation we can grasp rapidly changing trends in S&T field as well as accumulate and disseminate knowledge that will enhance the wellbeing of our citizens.
